Bird Watching

The Gracie Creek area is a bird watcher’s paradise. In addition to the dozens of backyard bird varieties, come prepared for many larger species. In the late winter and spring enjoy the dozens of bald eagles (and occasional gold eagles) as they nest only 1/2 mile from the cabin. Joining them are trumpeter swans, pelicans and a variety of other water fowl. A spring high lite is the annual Prairie Chicken mating ritual, using the Lek adjacent to the GCC property. The summer brings hundreds of pelicans, great blue heron, a variety of duck, and many other unique birds.
